The study focused on a disease called atherosclerosis, which is the leading cause of blocked arteries in the heart.

This disease is caused by the accumulation of cholesterol, fat and other substances in the blood, which form plaques or microbes that clog the arteries.

Changcheng-chou said that experiments on the transmission of the disease were conducted on mice in which male mice were fed a high-cholesterol diet, which caused changes in the RNA of their sperm.
