The governor owned four houses in Zell. A drowned family, lost money and the Nazis also played a role.
The former governor (1922-1938) Franz Rehrl left his mark on Pinzgau as the driving force behind the construction of the Glocknerstrasse and the Schmittenhöhebahn in Zell. But that’s not all. He is also considered the initiator of the use of hydropower in the Fuscher Bärenwerk and the Tauern power plants in Kaprun. And he also lived in Zell am See, where he owned four houses over the years. Near one of these houses in Erlberg, a monument to Rehrl and an information board will be erected in the summer.
