Will you take Line 7 of the CDMX Metro? The Collective Transportation System reported on the morning of this Thursday, March 21, that service was resumed in the affected section, following train circulation was suspended for nearly three hours.
Users of the capital’s Metro reported this morning that they were evicted at the Tacuba station, since circulation was completely stopped due to problems on the road.
Through social networks, the Mexico City Metro explained that it suspended the service to adjust a track change device. The affected or partially closed section began at the San Joaquín station and went to Constituciónntes, so the trains only circulated in 2 circuits: Rosario-Tacuba and Tacubaya-Barranca del Muerto.
Given this, the capital’s transportation sent technicians to repair the failure and, in addition, supported the affected people with RTP units, which circulated from Tacuba to Tacubaya in both directions.
This is how the ‘chaos’ was experienced due to the failure on Metro line 7
“Technicians are working on the revision of the track change device on Line 7, so service is not offered from San Joaquín to Constituciónntes. The train service operates in 2 circuits: Rosario-Tacuba and Tacubaya-Barranca del Muerto,” detailed the CDMX Metro on its X account, formerly Twitter.

The partial closure of this section caused chaos and inconvenience among users of the Orange Line following criticizing that due to this failure they will arrive late to their work centers.
In videos circulating on social networks, it is observed how passengers crowd the RTP units due to the desperation of arriving late to their offices, some users are even shown who were ‘hanging’ from the units.
The Metro reported that around 10:10 a.m., Line 7 service was fully restored, from Barranca del Muerto to El Rosario.
Metro CDMX will investigate failures on line 7
The General Directorate of the Metro ordered a specific investigation to clarify responsibilities, as well as for the corresponding administrative sanctions, it reported in a statement.
The Metro’s Relevant Incidents staff also became aware of the incident to begin an investigation into the matter.
