The Hydrological Authority of the Capital Region (Hidrocapital) announced on Monday, August 26, that it will execute a scheduled shutdown of the Tuy II system, starting on Thursday, August 29, 2024, for a period of 48 hours.

A team made up of engineers, technicians and specialized workers will carry out a series of works, according to information published by the state-owned company on its Instagram account.

The main activity to be carried out will be the interconnection of 300 meters of pipeline in the El Encantado sector, El Hatillo municipality (Miranda).

Which sectors will be affected by this measure?

According to Hidrocapital, the parishes that will be affected by the works that will be carried out on Thursday, August 29 are the following:

-Saint John

-The Shepherdess

-Saint Augustine

-San Bernardino

-Saint Teresa

-Saint Peter

Works carried out by Hidrocapital

So far in 2024, Hidrocapital has carried out several maintenance works, which has suspended the water service in Greater Caracas. The most recent occurred on May 28 when maintenance work on the Taguaza System was reported.

In this regard, the hydrologist explained that these tasks were aimed at improve supply of water in the municipalities of Acevedo, Plaza and Zamora in the state of Miranda.

The another service interruption carried out by the state company was in January to perform maintenance at the El Guapo treatment plant.

On that occasion, the municipalities of Miranda that were affected were Pedro Gual, Páez, Andrés Bello, Buroz and Brión.

He also indicated that these works were to optimize operations and improve the water supply in the Barlovento axis.
