9- Electrolyte disturbances, especially in people with eating disorders.
10- Drug interactions, especially with antidepressant drugs, including monoamine oxidase inhibitors. and selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors. and over-the-counter pain relievers that can contain caffeine.
How do energy drinks negatively affect girls?
Caffeine is usually one of the ingredients in energy drinks that makes girls feel more refreshed for a short period of time. The amount of caffeine in a 225g can of energy drink is the same as in 140g of coffee, which is regarding half a small cup of coffee. Some types of energy drinks come in sizes much larger than 225g. The package size can reach regarding 340 grams and thus contain more caffeine.
Therefore, girls may take more caffeine than they should, which is one of the stimulant components that stimulate the nervous system.
Besides caffeine, energy drinks contain other ingredients, such as: added amino acids, herbs, and vitamins. And high amounts of sugar may cause tooth decay, weight gain, and sudden energy crash.

Energy drink consumption is associated with increased risky behaviors, such as excessive drinking that may lead to hospitalization and death, especially when high levels of caffeine are taken with alcohol.
Heavy consumption of sweetened beverages increases dopamine levels in the brain in some individuals in the same way that cocaine does, and large doses of it can cause death.
Excess consumption of sugar over time can lead to chronic conditions including obesity and diabetes.
