The specialist points out on a television program that the first cause of gingivitis is poor hygiene and dental cleaning in particular. But there are other, more serious causes of diseases of the oral cavity: periodontal degeneration, gingivitis, malocclusion of the teeth, and calculus. Therefore, you should visit the dentist at least 1-2 times a year for a dental cleaning and examination, according to the “Russia Today” website.
He adds, among the signs of gum disease, bad breath from the mouth, bleeding when brushing the teeth and their instability.
He points out that gingivitis is a common problem, so that there are many tips on the Internet on how to control bleeding and other symptoms. But not all of them are useful and safe.
He adds, in order to combat gum infections, the cleanliness of the teeth and oral cavity must be taken care of.
“We’re talking about the oral cavity as a whole – the teeth, the tongue, the mucosa, including the surrounding teeth,” he says.
He adds among the methods used and effective in cleaning the oral cavity is the use of the “oral irrigation device”, thanks to which and under the pressure of the water stream, food residues and pathological bacteria can be removed from all parts of the oral cavity, including inaccessible areas. He stresses that the use of the water stream should be seldom. The appliance must be filled halfway with boiling water and an antiseptic solution that has a pleasant taste, directing the stream of water toward the gum line and between the spacers between the teeth.
He adds, attention should also be paid to choosing a toothbrush, as before buying it, you must consult a doctor, who determines its type and degree of hardness.
