He The National Meteorological Service (SMN) issued a yellow alert this followingnoon for sectors of Neuquén and Río Negro due to extreme temperatures for this Tuesdayat the beginning of a new heat wave that would last at least until Friday with temperatures of 35 degrees or more.
It should be remembered that last weekend both Neuquén and Río Negro suffered temperatures that reached 40 degrees, from Thursday to Sunday included. Only today there was a respite with around 32 degrees in the Los Valles area.
And NEuquén the heat will be felt practically throughout the provincewith the exception of the departments of the Zapala, Catan Lil and Collón Cura departments.
In the case of Río Negro, the sectors included in the SMN yellow alert are the departments of General Roca and the northern part of El Cuy.
Yellow alert for extreme heat in eight other provinces
The National Meteorological Service also alerted for extreme temperatures for the provinces of Buenos Aires, Formosa, La Rioja, San Juan, Córdoba, San Luis, Mendoza, La Pampa and Chubut.
In Buenos Aires, the alert extends to the entire metropolitan areadelimitation that includes the suburbs and the City of Buenos Aires, the central, western and southwestern area of the province of Buenos Aires.
In turn, this alert applies to the south of La Rioja, the south of San Juan, all of Mendoza, the north and west of La Pampa, a large part of Neuquén, the center, east and north of Córdoba and north and east of Rio Negro.
The alert also covers a large part of San Luis, eastern Chubut and western Formosa, where temperatures above 35° are expected.
The yellow alert indicates that the expected temperatures may have a mild to moderate effect on people’s healthbut they can be dangerous in the case of risk groups, such as boys and girls, people over 65, with chronic diseases.
