Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – Pascal Ferry, editor-in-chief of the French magazine “France Football”, revealed Mohamed Salah’s chances of winning the 2022 Ballon d’Or, noting that the Egyptian star contributed to the increase in the popularity of the “Ballon d’Or”.
Next Monday, France Football will hold the 2022 Golden Ball Awards, and Mohamed Salah is one of the most prominent candidates to win the award, in addition to French Karim Benzema and Senegalese Sadio Mane.
Pascal Ferry spoke to the “Al-Laib” program on MBC Egypt regarding the chances of the “Pharaohs” star in winning the award, saying: “He is among the 5 or 6 players nominated for this edition, because in the 2022/2021 season he achieved many achievements, and was chosen The best player in the English Premier League, but there are two points that do not go in his favor, losing the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations final and not qualifying for the World Cup in Qatar.”
Pascal Ferry added: “Mohamed Salah has the ingredients to be in the top three or more. Indeed, he is an exceptional player. He will win the award one day, and probably soon, and he will achieve brightness for the award around the world, specifically in the Middle East and in the Arab countries.”
And the editor-in-chief of France Football added: “He is a real icon, and everyone knows that Mohamed Salah contributed to the increase in the popularity of the Ballon d’Or.”
Mohamed Salah was ranked seventh in the ranking of the Golden Ball list, during the last edition of 2021, while Argentine star Lionel Messi won the award.
