EDUCATION-INSERTION. On July 5, the sub-prefect, the rector of the academy and the mayor jointly signed a partnership, labeling the Vert-Bois district as an “educational city”. Five months later, some twenty actions have already materialized.
“Consolidating the role of the school, promoting educational continuity and opening up the field of possibilities. It is with these words that Claudy Henriot, principal of the Anne-Frank college, summarizes the objectives of the Educational City. There are 200 on the national territory, including Vert-Bois, following the candidacy of Saint-Dizier in the fall of 2021. A positive response followed in February 2022 to lead to the signing of a partnership between the State , National Education and the City, July 5.
With 7,470 inhabitants, 34.7% of whom are young people under 25, and 35.8% of 16-25 year olds are uneducated and unemployed, the Bragard district ticked all the boxes to be labeled.
Concrete
On paper, the challenge is not so simple. First, “we must better coordinate all the existing systems”, continues Claudy Henriot, leader of the Educational City for National Education. But between education and integration, “the panel is very wide”, underlines Virginia Clausse, Assistant for Education and Families. “We are not necessarily used to working together on these subjects. This is an opportunity to demonstrate complementarity and imagination, while mobilizing partners and project leaders. To do this, “the State pays €320,000 per year”, recalls the sub-prefect Laurent Guillemot, knowing that the labeling is first effective for three years.
After the context is set, concretely, what happens? Since the signature five months ago, the first concrete actions have seen the light of day. Starting with the recruitment at the end of August of an Educational City project manager, in the person of Atissar Hibour. In this task, she is supported by Jessica Hodost, educational city coordinator. And the least we can say is that they haven’t been idle!
Around the fourteen priority axes targeted on the district, once the diagnosis has been carried out, 20 actions have already been carried out. The first to hold Atissar Hibour’s attention is called “oral, an asset”. “This consists of setting up workshops, such as theatre, role-playing, to help young people with preparation, posture, time management, stress… This will be useful for their ninth-grade oral, but also later, as in maintenance. »
As a priority, a post of parenting coordinator has been created at the socio-cultural center, which “is in charge of networking and publicizing what is being done in the context of parent education”, details Virginia Clausse.
The end of the calendar year was also marked by training dear to the sub-prefect, on secularism and the values of the Republic. Led by speakers from the Initiales association, over one day, in the Anne-Frank and Luis Ortiz colleges, it is articulated with National Education: “Our teachers can bounce back, it’s a good example of complementarity with the associations”, rejoices Claudy Henriot.
Perspectives
Events have taken place, such as a basketball course around diversity and equality, the Fête de la science marked by the original exhibition on robots or even pocket concerts to introduce people to musical practice. Not to mention the €30,000 from the Educational City fund, which makes it possible to promote teaching actions, such as a visit to the University of Cergy-Pontoise as part of an astronomy project at the Anne-Frank college.
For the year 2023, around thirty actions are already in the cards. Working groups will be created on different topics and will meet four times a year. “We are also going to launch a call for expressions of interest to further mobilize the actors”, projects Atissar Hibour. While accentuating the dynamics of the device and its highlighting.
