As we found out, on Friday the Chancellery of the President submitted an application to book a plane for a flight to the USA. There is no date for Andrzej Duda’s overseas departure yet, because the Chancellery of the President is waiting for confirmation of the date of the meeting with Donald Trump.
There are two possibilities. It may be that Andrzej Duda will fly for a short visit in the coming hours and return for the Independence Day celebrations on Monday, when, among other things, will present general nominations. This will be the last Independence Day in Duda’s term.
However, if Mastalerek and Kolarski do not arrange a meeting with Trump in the coming hours, the president will fly to the US only next week.

Confusion regarding the president’s departure
“Gazeta Wyborcza” reported on Friday evening, citing its sources, that Andrzej Duda is going to the USA to meet Donald Trump. The daily reported that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was not aware of this sudden visit of the president. “On Friday afternoon, presidential officials only informed a group of trusted journalists to be ready to travel overseas with Duda,” the daily reported.
National Security Bureau spokesman Marcin Skowron did not deny the information about the visit and sent details to the Chancellery of the President. On Friday, Polsat News talked to presidential minister Mieszko Pawlak, who said that “there are no plans to leave today”, but did not deny that such a visit was to take place.
According to “Gazeta Wyborcza” sources, President Duda was supposed to fly to Trump’s presidential event at his estate in Mar-a-Lago in Florida, where Viktor Orban is also expected to appear.
PiS and Andrzej Duda in euphoria after Donald Trump’s victory
Law and Justice MPs rejoiced when it turned out that Donald Trump won the elections in the United States. In Onet we described that the result of the battle between Republicans and Democrats overseas was useful to them as a weapon to hit the soft underbelly of the ruling coalition, some say it will also give the party “wind in the sails”.
Similar euphoria could be heard on Wednesday from around the Presidential Palace. Early in the morning, President Andrzej Duda congratulated Donald Trump on his victory via the X platform.
Donald Trump’s victory in the American elections is – as we hear in PiS – a wind in the sails of conservative circles. There have been signals from President Andrzej Duda’s entourage that his friendly relations with Trump will only intensify this wind, helping Duda sail into wider, international waters.
Taking Flight: Duda’s Dilemma With Trump
So, here we are again. Andrzej Duda, Poland’s very own President, is packing his bags — or is he? The Chancellery of the President has put in an application for a flight to the USA. But plot twist: there’s no fixed date because they’re still waiting to hear back about a meeting with none other than Donald Trump. It’s like waiting for a text back from your crush, only slightly less awkward and considerably more political. Isn’t modern diplomacy just the best?
Now, just when you thought this was all straightforward, things get a bit murky. There’s speculation that Duda might be flying out for a short jaunt to meet Trump and then returning in time for Independence Day celebrations. Essentially, it’s a classic game of “Will he? Won’t he?” Ten bucks says he’ll show up with a snow globe of Mar-a-Lago for the big day. And it’s worth noting, this year’s celebrations could be extra special — it’s the last Independence Day in Duda’s term. Will he go out with a bang or a whimper? Stay tuned!
An Invitation Lost In Translation
But wait! The air is thick with confusion. Reports from “Gazeta Wyborcza” suggest this visit wasn’t even on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ radar until Friday afternoon. It’s like trying to be the life of the party while forgetting to RSVP! Apparently, only a select group of journalists were given a heads-up about the presidential travel plan. Talk about an elite club — move over, Ivy League; we’ve got presidential travel secrets!
The National Security Bureau’s spokesperson was playing it cool, neither confirming nor denying anything. This might explain why Minister Mieszko Pawlak alighted on the phrase, “there are no plans to leave today” while also refusing to say they weren’t happening. Classic politician maneuvering, really. The more they say ‘no’, the more it sounds like ‘maybe’.
Now picture this: President Duda, all decked out in his best suit, waltzing into Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate, just as Viktor Orban is also expected to be soaking up the sun. It’s like the political version of the Avengers: ‘The Allies Assemble’. Who knows what plans they have — probably plotting how to make headlines and do some serious schmoozing.
The Trump Effect For PiS And Duda
You might remember how jubilant the Law and Justice party (PiS) was at the news of Trump’s victory. They were practically throwing confetti at the prospect. It’s like they suddenly found their secret weapon against opposition parties back home. Trump’s win is providing them with the proverbial wind in their sails — and they’re not shy about admitting it!
Duda’s cordial greeting of Trump over the social media platform X was basically a public display of warmth. Think of it like sending a friendly emoji; it’s getting personal out there! There’s chatter around the Presidential Palace suggesting that, with Trump in his corner, Duda might be sailing into more expansive political waters. Let’s just hope he doesn’t capsize on the way!
In conclusion, whether Duda’s flying out today, next week, or not at all, one thing is for sure: every twist in this tale just keeps us on our toes. In the wonderful world of politics, plot twists are such a staple, they might just need their own Netflix series. Stay tuned for the next episode of ‘Presidential Flight: Will They or Won’t They?’
Ht have been a classic case of “no comment,” or simply a move to keep everyone guessing. After all, what’s better than a little intrigue in politics?
As Duda’s team attempts to navigate this diplomatic maze, it seems there are more questions than answers. Will he manage to secure a meeting with Trump? Will this visit signal a shift in Poland’s international position? And, critically, what will this mean for Duda’s political future, especially with his term coming to an end? With the US elections stirring the pot and a potential visit on the horizon, it’s a tense time filled with uncertain outcomes.
Duda’s Future Amidst Political Crosswinds
On the surface, Duda’s recent congratulatory message to Trump was a sign of solidarity and an effort to align closely with a figure many in conservative Polish circles admire. But beyond simple congratulations lies a more complex relationship, one that may influence Duda’s political maneuvering both at home and abroad. There’s an underlying current that a good rapport with Trump could be a boon for Duda’s administration—if he plays his cards right.
While Poland largely supports conservative values, Duda must tread carefully. His engagement with Trump could bolster his standing among conservative constituents but may also alienate more liberal factions within Poland, complicating his already precarious position as he approaches the end of his presidency. Whatever happens, Duda seems prepared to ride whatever political waves come his way, whether they lead him to triumph or disaster.
Fasten your seatbelts, folks! The winds of change are blowing strong, and as the world watches, Duda is poised to either take flight into new horizons or remain tethered to the status quo. Only time will tell how this week’s developments will shape his legacy!
