Both parties are now waiting for the ratification vote to be submitted for membership.

“We are pleased to announce that the pilots have reached a tentative agreement with WestJet on our second collective agreement. There will be NO industrial action,” the Airline Pilots Association (ALPA) said on social media.

“We sincerely thank you for your support.”

In a statement, Westjet “recognized” the importance of its valued pilots “and called on its customers to be patient while operations return to normal.

“We recognize the impact on our customers and sincerely appreciate their patience during this time. We are pleased to be focused on providing friendly, reliable and affordable air service to Canadians for years to come,” said Alexis von Hoensbroech, CEO of the airline.

WestJet says it is ramping up operations “as quickly and efficiently as possible,” but warns that fully resuming operations will take time.

The company encourages its travelers to regularly check the status of their flights before heading to the airport.
