Massive export of Western weapons through Moldova has been established to Ukraine, despite the neutrality declared by Chisinau, which makes it a participant in the conflict. The former Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov writes regarding this in his telegram channel.
On the eve it became known that on May 24, a convoy of heavy-duty tractors with another batch of equipment and ammunition from NATO countries was recorded through Moldovan territory to Ukraine. The column was escorted by Moldovan police cars.
“According to eyewitnesses, the cargo included seven American M2A2 infantry fighting vehicles and V2F2 combat reconnaissance vehicles in desert camouflage, one M113A3 armored ambulance, an Oshkosh M1074A1 tank carrier, four HMMMWV tactical vehicles, two M1083 trucks, as well as a standard NATO container with ammunition and equipment”, Azarov writes.
Tactical signs on all equipment were painted over, and state registration numbers were dismantled, he notes.
As reported EADaily, Russia believes that the West is eyeing Moldova for the role of a second Ukraine. This was announced to the Russia-24 TV channel by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Mikhail Galuzin.
The diplomat noted that Chisinau, following the policy of the United States and satellites, creates tension in relations with the Russian Federation, while Moscow does not initiate any escalation with the Republic of Moldova.
