PARIS, May 10. (Benin News / EP) –

Western Digital (WD) unveiled a new modular SSD ecosystem under the name of Sandisk Professional Pro-Blade aimed at professionals and creators who need particularly fast portable storage devices to transport large volumes of high-resolution content.

The new ecosystem presented by WD allows its users to store terabytes (TB) of information and revolves around three devices: the Pro-Blade Mag SSD portable disk, the Pro-Blade transport and the Pro-Blade station.

The Pro-Blade SSD Mag is fast non-volatile memory (NVMe) that allows users to “scale the storage they need in an instant,” as it puts it in a statement.

This memory is resistant to falls of up to three meters. It is available in several configurations: 1 TB for 179.99 dollars (regarding 170.3 euros at current exchange rates), 2 TB for 289.99 dollars (274.4 euros) and 4 TB for 599.99 dollars (567 .9 euros). Delivery is expected to begin in June this year.

Pro-Blade SSD Mag drives can be connected to the portable Pro-BladeTransport enclosure, with the company promising read speeds of up to 2,000 megabytes (MB) per second. Additionally, the transport can connect to a compatible camera from its USB-C port to shoot HD content that is downloaded directly to storage drives. which can be swapped without interrupting the shoot.

The Pro-Blade Transport is expected to arrive in June for $69.99 (€66.25) for the 0TB drive, $239.99 (€227.16) for the 1TB drive, $359.99 (€340 €.75) for the 2TB drive and $659 (€624.7) for the 4TB drive.

The Pro-Blade Station is a desktop system that allows up to four Pro-Blade SSDs to be connected at the same time.. To do this, it uses an interface Thunderbolt (speed of 40 gigabytes per second) for downloading files in 4K, 8K and 12K resolution. It should arrive in the United States later this year at a price yet to be determined.
