Repair work may limit rail services until Friday
Vienna (OTS) – Due to track damage near Traunstein (Germany) and the associated repair work, individual WESTbahn trains are affected by restrictions on Wednesday (16 August). The regular timetable applies between Vienna and Salzburg. From Salzburg there are restrictions to Innsbruck and back (only 6 out of 8 connections can be made) or to Munich and back (only 7 out of 10 connections can be made).
Specifically, the following WESTbahn train connections will be canceled on Wednesday:
- 963 and 971 in the Munich – Salzburg section
- 964 in the Salzburg – Munich section
- 962 in the Salzburg – Innsbruck section
- 969 in the Innsbruck – Salzburg section
WESTsuperpreis tickets booked for one of the canceled train connections are also valid on other WESTbahn connections on Wednesday. Danger: WESTbahn tickets are no longer accepted on ÖBB trains.
Travelers who want to take the WESTbahn towards Innsbruck or Munich on Thursday or Friday should check the current timetable once more shortly before starting their journey www.westbahn.at inform.
