West Indies lose by an innings in second Test in a row, New Zealand sweep

New Zealand defeated West Indies easily in the second Test by an innings and 12 runs to sweep the two-match series 0-2 and sounded the alarm for Pakistan.

In the second Test match of the series played in Wellington, West Indies decided to bowl first which was proved wrong by Henry Nicholls.

Henry Nicholls took the burden of the New Zealand batting line without the services of Kane Williamson and played an innings of 174 runs, thanks to which New Zealand scored 460 runs in the first innings.

On behalf of West Indies, Shannon Gabriel and Alzari Fouzef took three wickets each while Chimar Holder and Ruston Chase took two wickets each.

The West Indian team, which suffered from an innings defeat in the first test match, also faced a worst failure in the first innings of the second test match.

The West Indian team was bundled out for just 131 runs in the first innings, in which Jermaine Blackwood was the most prominent batsman with 69 runs, while 8 players could not even enter double figures.

Experienced Tim Southee and Kyle Jamieson took five wickets each for New Zealand bowling well.

After the follow-on, West Indies played a little better in the second innings, but still two of their players were bowled out for 41 runs.

John Campbell and Shammar Brooke then put on a partnership of 89 runs to take the score to 130, but with Campbell scoring 68, the visitors lost three wickets in quick succession.

After half the team was dismissed for 135 runs, Jermaine Blackwood and Jason Holder took the score to 170, but Blackwood, set on the wicket, returned to the pavilion after scoring 20 runs.

West Indian captain Joshua De Silva came in to support Holder and the duo put on an 82-run partnership for the seventh wicket, after which both players were dismissed for 61 and 57 respectively.

West Indies were bowled out for 317 runs in the second innings and suffered an innings defeat for the second Test in a row.

New Zealand won the match by an innings and 12 runs to complete a 0-2 clean sweep in the series.

Henry Nicholls was named Man of the Match while Kyle Jamieson was named Man of the Series.

With this victory, New Zealand has sounded the alarm for the Pakistani team, where now the Pakistani team will play a two-match series against the Kiwis, and the first test match of the series will be played from December 26.
