Zapping Our Mondial Top 20 most expensive players out of contract
In a column for The Sun, Karren Brady, West Ham’s vice-chairman since 2010, gave her opinion on the current situation regarding Kurt Zouma:
« Let me be absolutely clear – there is no defense for Kurt Zouma’s actions. Like everyone who watched the video that circulated this week, I was shocked by what I saw. Kurt’s behavior in no way reflects the standards and values we hold dear at West Ham United – and of course those of our animal-loving nation. Our position as a Club has been clear from the start – we unreservedly condemn his actions and will never tolerate any form of animal cruelty. We acted quickly to impose the maximum fine available to him. I think it’s important and appropriate at this point to point out that Kurt Zouma, the person, is fully aware of the gravity of his actions. We’ve said it before, but I can say it once more now, because I’ve seen it with my own eyes and heard it with my own ears: he’s very remorseful. He apologized, and also sincerely apologized to all members of the club and the general public. It is an important first step in what will be a journey of re-education and atonement and it is a journey in which we will fully support him. »
The position is strong, firm and suggests that the French international will have the right to a second chance. Zouma will have to take it if he wants to continue football at the highest level.
