Palestine – At dawn on Monday, Israeli settlers attacked the village of Jaloud, north of the occupied West Bank, assaulted a Palestinian house and burned a car, causing confrontations to break out.
Eyewitnesses told Anadolu that a group of settlers attacked the town of Jalud at dawn, threw stones at a house, and burned a car.
They added that confrontations broke out between Palestinians and settlers, and the Palestinians were able to expel them from the village.
There are 451,000 settlers in 132 settlements and 147 settlement outposts in the West Bank, in addition to 230,000 in occupied East Jerusalem, according to the left-wing Israeli “Peace Now” movement.
Earlier Monday, the Israeli army stormed the town of Azzun, east of Qalqilya in the northern West Bank, searched homes, arrested Palestinians, and demolished homes and facilities, according to eyewitnesses.
Witnesses stressed that the army turned the town into a military barracks and paralyzed movement there.
Israel has closed the main entrance to the town since the start of its war on the Gaza Strip on October 7.
The war on Gaza left more than 113,000 people dead and wounded, most of them children and women, and regarding 10,000 missing amid massive destruction and famine that claimed the lives of children and the elderly.
In parallel with the war, the army and settlers escalated their attacks on Palestinians and their property in the West Bank, including Jerusalem, leaving 498 dead, regarding 5,000 wounded, and 8,710 detainees, including more than 610 children, according to official Palestinian sources.
