Werewolf & World War action with “Vikings” star: Trailer for the horror hit “Operation Blood Hunt” – Cinema News

“Operation Blood Hunt” is a genre mix of monster horror and war action. The project was apparently realized with a rather limited budget, but could be quite fun thanks to a good dose of irony. Here is the trailer:

Are we currently experiencing a major comeback in the world of fantasy and horror films of a monster species that has seemed to have faded away in recent years? For a long time, vampires and zombies dominated the field. But now another species is appearing more frequently again: the “good” old werewolf.

“100% Wolf” and its sequel “200% Wolf”, which was only released in cinemas this year, have recently been successful in the family and animation film sector. Now adult horror fans are once again being treated to the mythical creatures that howl at the full moon and mutate into ravenous beasts. The first trailer for the “Wolfman” remake, which has been announced for what feels like an eternity, was finally released recently:

This is now followed by the apparently even harder (and bloodier?) “Operation Blood Hunt”. The horror actioner was directed by “My Big Fat Greek Wedding 1-3” actor and “Operation Watchtower” director Louis Mandylor.

The lead role is played by Golden Globe winner Jonathan Rhys-Meyers (“Vikings”). At his side are ex-wrestler and MMA fighter Quinton “Rampage” Jackson (“The A-Team”), Sonia Couling (“The Bangkok Conspiracy”), Peter Dobson (“The Frighteners”), Bear Williams (“The Flood”) and Mandylor himself.

In the US, the shocker will be released as video-on-demand on October 4, 2024. When and how “Operation Blood Hunt” will come to Germany is not yet known.

This is what “Operation Blood Hunt” is about

1944: The US Army has a problem because soldiers keep disappearing without a trace at their base on an island in the Pacific Ocean. The military leadership therefore assigns Colonel Murphy (Rhys-Meyers) to lead a special unit to find out what is going on there. Just in case, Murphy and his men are accompanied by occult expert Reverend Conte (Jackson).

Once on the island, Murphy quickly has to forget his theory that guerrilla fighters from the Japanese army might have killed the men. In conversations with the natives, he and Conte soon find out that the missing people were actually massacred by a group of lycanthropes, so-called werewolves. It is not long before they come face to face with a particularly aggressive specimen of this species in the jungle…

In “Bermuda Island,” which debuts in our home theaters in October, monsters also wreak havoc on a remote island. In the following article, you can watch the trailer and find out more about the film:
