Here is Sepolia, the second Ethereum testnet that arrived before the big update called Shanghai.
Ethereum is another step closer to its next major upgrade, dubbed Shanghai. Shanghai-Capella, more simply known as Shapella, is an update 56832-en epochában It was scheduled to be activated at 4:04 UTC and finalized on February 28 at 4:17 UTC. This particular test run tested one of Ethereum’s Key Development Proposals (EIPs), which aimed to remove staking from the Ethereum network.
Since Ethereum launched the Beacon Chain in 2020 and began its journey to becoming a proof-of-stake (PoS) network, more than 17 million ETH have been staked by users. However, the devices have not been able to be recalled so far. The Shanghai update scheduled for March will finally unlock this feature, allowing stakers to access their funds.
The next simulation will be on the Goerli testnet, and then the Shanghai update will be rolled out on the Ethereum mainnet, which will be the next big milestone following the network transitions from Proof-of-Work (PoW) to PoS in September 2022.
Testnets like Goerli and Sepolia allow Ethereum developers to launch applications and updates on the network and fix any issues before the update goes live on the mainnet.
Ethereum, meanwhile, has largely ignored the latest development, with the asset currently trading at $1,640, according to TradingView data.
