After the crash of a Pakistan Airlines (PIA) flight from Lahore, the capital of Punjab, to Karachi, the capital of Sindh, fake news and rumors immediately spread on social media.
While common people were troubled by these false news and rumours, false news was also spread regarding some well-known personalities.
The crashed plane was carrying 8 crew members and 91 passengers and the plane crashed just as it was preparing to land.
Immediately following the crash, pictures and videos of the ill-fated plane went viral on social media, in which the plane can be seen engulfed in flames.
The list of passengers of the ill-fated plane also went viral on social media, while rumors of several famous personalities also boarding the plane started circulating and such news was also spread regarding the well-known Pakistani couple Danish Taimur and Ayeza Khan.
After the rumors regarding themselves spread, Danish Taimur and Ayeza Khan clarified through social media that all the news regarding them are false and they are not among the passengers of the plane.
Danish Taimur took to Instagram with fake news graphics to tell fans that he and his wife are fine and are at home.
He dismissed the rumors regarding him as false and expressed his condolences to the families of the victims of the accident.
On the other hand, Ayeza Khan also denied it by sharing a screenshot of the fake news regarding her on Instagram.
Ayeza Khan, in simple words, dismissed the information regarding herself as false.
It should be noted that there were 90 passengers and 8 crew members on board the plane, out of which regarding 30 are women and children, while the number of male passengers in the plane is said to be 60.
Regarding the accident, the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and PIA management have clarified that the accident occurred due to a technical fault, however, it is not clear how the technical fault occurred.
The said accident is being described as the biggest accident that has ever happened in Karachi and the number of people killed in this accident might not be confirmed immediately.
