Weller’s “controlled collapse” for Hawaii

Ratzeburger Jedermann second

Ironman premiere, Hamburg podium and Hawaii ticket: Jonas Weller from Ratzeburg took second place in his first Ironman on the Hamburg Rathausmarkt and collapsed at the finish. The 26-year-old explains why it was a “controlled collapse”, why he was the winner at first, the run was “an unforgettable experience” and what’s coming now.

Luebeck. The target tape in his hand, Jonas Weller roared his joy with a primal scream on Hamburg’s Rathausmarkt. Fastest Anyone! Insanity. And that at his Ironman premiere, plus the ticket for Hawaii (October 8th) on top. The Ratzeburger, who has already won World Championship silver (U23/light double sculls) as a rower and attracted attention with silver at the Duathlon World Championships in May, fulfilled his dream in 8:32:42 hours.
