Hi Emmett, congratulations on the arrival of Béibhínn! How are you all settling in?

Emmett:

We are absolutely over the moon! Daibhí and Éala are obsessed with their little sister, and Aoife and I are just buzzing with happiness. The last few days have been a whirlwind of cuddles, sleep deprivation, and trying to remember what a quiet house sounds like!

It’s splendid to hear. Doibhí and Éala seem excited to be big siblings?

Emmett:

Absolutely! They shower Béibhínn with kisses and try to help with everything.It’s been such a heartwarming journey watching them navigate their roles as big siblings. They’re already so protective of her.

From your experience, what would you say has been the biggest surprise about adding a third child to the mix?

Emmett:

The sense of pure, unconditional love that just keeps multiplying.I thought I knew what it felt like to be in awe of my children, but Béibhínn has taken it to another level. Plus,we’re definitely now officially outnumbered!

It sounds like a lot of fun,though! Any funny moments you can share?

emmett:

Oh,tons! One hilarious moment happened when we were trying to get everyone ready for a family outing. Daibhí insisted on putting Béibhínn in his superhero cape, and Éala was attempting to brush her hair with a giant pink feather duster. It was complete chaos, but full of laughter.

Many parents share that becoming a larger family brings a new kind of intensity. What keeps you grounded amidst all the joy and chaos?

Emmett:

Knowing how incredibly lucky we are to have this beautiful, chaotic family. Taking even five minutes to just sit and watch my children playing together fills my heart with such gratitude. And Aoife, she’s my rock, my partner in crime in this whole journey. We lean on each other immensely.

What advice would you give to parents who are thinking about expanding their family?

Emmett:

Just do it! It’s such a wild,beautiful,life-changing journey. Remember to enjoy every moment, even the messy, sleep-deprived ones, because they fly by so quickly. And always remember to make time for yourselves as a couple, even amidst the craziness.
