Welcome, Nikolai Baden! | IFK Gothenburg – The whole city’s team

24-year-old Nikolai Baden joins on loan with option to buy.
– I am set on competing directly for a starting place, says the Dane.

He has, among other things, played in the Juventus academy and, in addition to Italy, has had time to play club team games in the Netherlands, Austria and Hungary.

Now Göteborg, Kamratgården and IFK Göteborg are waiting for Nikolai Baden.

The 24-year-old attacker joins on loan from Danish Superligaen club Lyngby BK.

The loan agreement extends throughout the year, and it also includes a purchase option.

– When we have searched for a new player for our attacking set-up, one of the most important criteria has been that he should be able to go in and compete straight away. We get that in Nikolai. He has a fine left foot and is a good finisher who has proven himself to be a goalscorer at the clubs he has trusted. We see that he will fit very well into our style of play. We also like his background where he has gathered interesting experience from several clubs in different countries, says Ola Larsson, technical director.

Nikolai’s best goal tally during his senior career was in the Austrian Bundesliga team WSG Tirol where he scored 18 goals in 32 games and in Vitesse Arnhem where he scored nine goals in 37 league games in the Dutch Eredivisie.

Nikolai does his first training on Friday and we hope to have him ready for Sunday’s match against Elfsborg.

– It feels fantastic to come to such a big club as IFK Gothenburg. I enjoy crowd pressure and have watched lots of videos of the blue and white supporters. I’m very excited and really looking forward to playing with the supporters behind me. I am ready to do everything to contribute, says Nikolai.
