Welcome in the capital to the world travelers who arrived in the caravan; Caravan tourism policy is in the right direction, Minister said

PThe authorities have prepared a reception for the global tourists who came to Kerala with sixteen caravans and 31 travelers in the capital. A group called Automobile Expedition traveling from Istanbul, Turkey to Darwin, Australia came to enjoy the tourism potential of Kerala. Tourism Minister P.A. Muhammad Riaz accepted.

The Minister said that the visit of caravan travelers proves that Kerala’s caravan tourism policy is in the right direction. The visit of the global travel group is a source of hope for Kerala, which is expecting a large influx of foreign tourists post-Covid. Welcoming the foreign tourists to Kerala, the minister expressed his gratitude for including the state in the travel schedule.

The team reached Kerala on December 4 and enjoyed the beauty of the backwaters of Alappuzha and the stay in a houseboat. The next day we visited Kumali and Thekkady and went on a boating safari.

A total of 31 travelers including 16 from Switzerland, 14 from Germany and one from Russia were on the trip, which started in July this year. The team will cover 50,000 km through 17 countries during the year-long journey.

They travel in 16 caravan vehicles weighing ten tons. Each vehicle has been modified to accommodate a small family. The vehicle has facilities for sleeping, cooking and performing basic needs. All vehicles have solar panels.

The team has already completed visits to countries like Turkey, Iran, Georgia, Afghanistan and Pakistan. It is decided to visit 18 countries in a year. The journey ends in Australia.
