Selena has shared this video through Tiktok. Selena says the medication she is taking for lupus is behind the fluctuations in her hair. Selena says she’s never going to be a model and that people who don’t like her body will move on.

It is very common to gain weight while taking the medicine. If you don’t eat it, you will lose weight. Selena said that she is now speaking openly for those who are going through a similar situation and are being body-shamed without knowing the real story.
Selena also talks regarding how such comments affect her mood. Celina adds that her treatment is most important to her and that is what helps her.

Selena expresses her love and gratitude to her supporters and tells body-shamers to leave her. Selena also added that she doesn’t believe in people who make fun of someone because of their body or anything else.

Selena also recently opened up regarding going through treatment for lupus. Selena was responding to comments under a video. The question was why Selina’s hands were shaking like that. Selena said at the time that her tremors were due to her lupus medication.

Selena was diagnosed with lupus in 2014. Then Selena shared regarding each health progress. In 2017, Francia Reyes, a good friend of Selena, donated one of her kidneys following she suffered kidney failure as a result of the disease.

What is lupus?

Lupus is caused by a malfunction of the immune system. SLE or ‘Lupus’ is short for the autoimmune disease Systemic Lupus Erythematosus. Here the immune system turns once morest the body and attacks healthy cells. The disease can affect many organs like skin, joints, lungs, brain, eyes, nerves etc.

Symptoms

At the beginning of the disease, it can be seen as red photosensitive spots on the skin or red spots on the cheeks (butterfly rash).
