The NGO Foro Penal reported on Wednesday, July 31, at least 11 deaths and 429 arrests in the context of protests against the results of the CNE, which announced Nicolás Maduro as the winner of the presidential elections on July 28.
Gonzalo Himiob, vice president of the Penal Forum, published an update on the report on the repression of the post-election protests between Monday, July 29 and Wednesday, July 31.
Foto Penal detailed that the arrests occurred in 19 states and in the city of Caracas. It also indicated that the deaths were recorded in the Capital District (5) and the states of Yaracuy (2), Zulia (2), Aragua (1) and Táchira (1).
The foreign ministers of the G7 countries on Wednesday, July 31, called on the country’s authorities to “reflect the will of the Venezuelan people” and called on them to “publish the detailed election results with complete transparency.”

Aurora Silva, wife of the National Coordinator of the opposition party Voluntad Popular (VP), Freddy Superlano, demanded on Wednesday, July 31 that the authorities present proof of the life of the opposition leader.
“More than 24 hours have passed since the arbitrary detention of my husband, Freddy Superlano, and his assistants Renzo Salinas and Rafael García (…) I ask all Venezuelans and all the people who may receive this message to pray for him and to demand proof of life for Freddy Superlano,” said the wife of the VP leader in a video posted on her social networks.
Aurora Silva explained in an interview for Blue Radio that when her husband was arrested by uniformed officers she was in the state of Barinas, where Freddy Superlano is from.
Freddy Superlado was taken into a van by armed agents of the Venezuelan State on the morning of July 30 in the Sebucán sector (Caracas).

President Nicolás Maduro filed an appeal on Wednesday, July 31, before the Electoral Chamber of the Supreme Court (TSJ), three days after the CNE named him the winner of the presidential elections on July 28.
“I am appealing to the highest court so that it can take action and summon, as is its power, all the institutions, the 38 parties, and fully compare what this attack on electoral centres was and all the evidence,” Maduro said in statements to the press.
In an event broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión (VTV), the president delivered the appeal to the president of the TSJ, Judge Caryslia Rodríguez.
Pedro Urruchurtu, international coordinator of the opposition party Vente Venezuela, warned on Wednesday, July 31, that police presence will continue at the doors of the Argentine Embassy in Caracas.
“Regime security officials remain outside the residence of the Argentine Embassy in Caracas and surround it. They are seeking to take over this diplomatic headquarters.
