“We ask the Greek government, and Mr. Kairides can answer as its representative: Do the national red lines apply? Are there issues of demilitarization of the Aegean islands? Is Ankara doing this? What agenda are we going with? Are we just going for the photo of the moment and a handshake between Mr. Mitsotakis and Mr. Erdogan? Have the talks progressed and at what level? he continued, commenting that “when we show this concession and simply watch, knowing the conversion of the Chora Monastery into a mosque, which was announced and made official yesterday, what else can we expect?”
Addressing Mr. Kairides, Voula Kehagia asked “if in the course of Greek-Turkish relations and in any dialogue that develops, the Cyprus issue is always included”.
After Mr. Kairides’ answer, the press representative of SYRIZA-PS commented: “However much the Greek-Turkish relations progress and upgrade, will there always be a risk and will we always operate based on the possibilities of deterrence? Aren’t we going to The Hague sometime?” At the same time, he pointed out that “he did not get an answer regarding the Cyprus issue”.
