In April 2022, the company announced that it was going to implement 100% recyclable and degradable packagingwhich will reduce the amount of plastics that are used in buildings, which end up polluting the oceans.

Pedro Zambrano García, product manager of Weber Chilepresent in the XI Great Training Fair, organized by Sodimac, explained that “previously they came with an intermediate plastic fold inside to repel ambient humidity and protect the product. Today we are working on most of our products with bags that are 100% recyclable paper”.

Along these lines, he adds that “we are working on packages that are 100% water soluble. That is, the paper becomes part of the mix. It will also add certain properties to the product by being incorporated.”

In the industry, there are still polluting elements that, due to their properties, are very difficult to replace, since if they are done, the quality of the product is lost.

For this reason, the executive indicates that “what we are doing is focusing on the fastest, which is the issue of packaging; is to switch most of the packaging of certain product categories to 100% recycled paper and raw paper”.

In addition to packaging, the French multinational is looking for formulas to reduce the pollution produced by its products.

Zambrano points out that “there is a product, the floor on floor, which responds to the teacher’s need; that when he has to do ceramic floor renovations, he wants to change to another ceramic or porcelain tile, he can use this product to remove the debris from the previous floor. Therefore, it responds to a comfort need of the teacher and avoids emitting excess debris when doing a floor renovation, therefore it also responds to a sustainable need.”

The brand also implemented superior ceramic glue and H20 concrete on the market, both products save CO2, energy and raw materials.
