At the end of the day, snow will become widespread in the Ardennes and winter precipitation may also appear in the center and west of the country. On the high plateaus of the Ardennes, the snow cover might reach 10 to 15, or even locally 20 cm at the end of the day.
Accumulations of 25 to 30 l/m² are also expected and will mainly concern the north-west and south of the country. The IRM has issued a yellow alert for rain. This will concern the provinces of West Flanders, East Flanders, Antwerp, Namur and Luxembourg from 11 a.m. until Tuesday at 1 a.m.
The maxima will vary between 1°C in the Hautes Fagnes and 6°C in Flanders, under a moderate to fairly strong wind. Gusts can reach 70 km / h in the interior of the country in the morning. In the followingnoon, gusts of 60 to 70 km/h or locally higher will affect the coastal region.
Monday evening, the snow will linger a little longer in the Ardennes. From the west the weather will become drier but some winter showers may first occur, also in Lower Belgium. During the night, the weather will become dry once more and frost will be widespread with minimums of 2 to 4°C. The risk of ice patches will then be present throughout the country.
