The sky will gradually become heavy over part of the country this Friday, June 3, until giving precipitation which will sometimes have a stormy character. Update on today’s weather.
Thunderstorms are expected over much of France this Friday, June 3. Météo France placed departments on yellow vigilance from 6:70 a.m. and 10 departments will be under orange vigilance from 4 p.m.
These are ten departments of the South-West, part of which is in Occitania: Aveyron, Haute-GaronneGers, Landes, Lot, Lot-et-Garonne, Pyrénées-Atlantiques, Hautes-Pyrénées, Tarn and Tarn-et-Garonne.
“Sometimes violent thunderstorms, accompanied by heavy hailstorms and violent gusts, are expected in the late followingnoon and evening in the Southwest”, indicates Meteo Francewhich justifies its orange vigilance by the presence of wind and the risk of hail.
“High risk of violent phenomenon”
This episode represents “a high risk of violent phenomena accompanied by heavy hail and gusts“, note the forecasters. The storm cell should present a “strong electrical activity” and locally, the gusts might reach 60 to 80 km / h.
On the other hand, the weather forecast map announces thunderstorms over almost the whole country (see above), but “on the departments in yellow vigilance, the storms should be of less intensity, but we will pay particular attention to those located in the vicinity of the departments in orange”, observes Météo France.
