Weather New Heat Wave in the South from September 26: Forecast

The summer tailwind will not last long. Autumn is coming for everyone

Italy prepares to face an intense atmospheric instabilitywith a clear division between North and South. While the Centre-North will have to deal with rain, storms and a marked drop in temperatures, the South will enjoy a final, warm summer hug before the arrival of autumn, with peaks of over 30 degrees. A scenario that will however be short-lived: towards the weekend, a massive mass of colder air from the Balkans will bring a general drop in temperatures which will reverse the trend.

Today, Wednesday 25 September, a day marked by bad weather, particularly in the Centre-North, where the Civil Protection has issued ayellow weather alert for hydrogeological and hydraulic risk. The disturbance will cross a large part of the country, bringing widespread rain and thunderstorms. The most affected regions will be Emilia-Romagna, Tuscany, Lazio, Campania e Umbria. Precipitation is also expected in the rest of the north, in particular in Friuli Venezia Giulia, Lombardy and Venetowhile in the South and on the major islands the weather will be more variable, with clearings alternating with brief showers. The main alerts concern the areas at hydrogeological and hydraulic risk, especially in the basins of the North-East and the central Apennines. The Civil Protection has warned of possible inconvenience due to therising water levels and heavy rainfall. Temperature decreasing in the North and in Tuscany; stationary or slightly increasing elsewhere.

Thursday 26th September, further worsening of weather conditions in the North, with the arrival of a new and more intense disturbanceThe North-West regions and the Alpine areas will be hit by continuous rains, which could take on the character of reverse or stormespecially in the evening. They do not exclude local downpours in Liguria and on the Po Valley North of the Po. On the contrary, the Centre-South and the Islands will enjoy mostly stable and clear weather, with temperatures further increasing and values ​​that locally will exceed 30°C.

Weather trend from September 27th

From Friday 27 September, heavy rains on the Alps, Prealps and Friuli Venezia Giuliawith possible even intense phenomena. Improvements are expected already in the evening, especially in the North-West regions, with large clearings. In the Center-South, still stable weather, with increasing cloudiness in Sardinia and the central Tyrrhenian regions. On Saturday 28th, the rains will move towards the Adriatic regions and the southern peninsula, with possible showers on Emilia-Romagna, Marche and Puglia.

Temperature drop coming next week

With the new week coming, Italy will be affected by a strong lowering of temperatures. After the passage of the disturbances, a flow of cold air coming from the Balkans will make its way towards our country, making the mercury column plummetsThe decline will be particularly evident in the North and in the Centerwhere temperatures could drop by over 10 degrees compared to the values ​​recorded on Friday. Even in the South, where summer temperatures are currently being experienced, the change will be abrupt: by Monday 30 September, we will go from highs close to 30°C to values more typical of autumnwith a cooler climate across the country.
