Weather Forecasts for Maryland, Virginia and DC Before Christmas – NBC Washington DC (44)

A broad storm will bring rain on Thursday and the possibility of a winter mix on Friday in the Washington DC area, anticipated Telemundo 44 meteorologist Joseph Martinez.

Although snowfall and large amounts of rain are not expected, on Friday “we might have some snowflakes mixed with precipitation,” according to the expert.

Also, given the proximity of Christmas Day, Martínez made a special recommendation to viewers.

“If you have trips for these holidays, take advantage of Wednesday because the conditions on the roads will be calm,” he said.

The maximum temperature for Thursday will be 51 degrees while the minimum will remain at 46 degrees.

On Friday the thermometer will reach high 40 degrees but the minimum temperature might drop to 16.

¿WHITE CHRISTMAS IN THE WASHINGTON DC AREA?

“Unfortunately we do not have a white Christmas in the forecast,” Martínez replied.

The arrival of Arctic polar air will cause Christmas Eve and Christmas days to be “sunny but very cold.”

According to the expert, it is an air mass that is descending from Canada, which will cause “a drastic drop in the thermometer for Christmas Eve.”

On Saturday morning, Christmas Eve, it will dawn with 16 degrees with a maximum of 28, while on Sunday, Christmas Day, the thermometer might mark 19 degrees and 30, as a maximum temperature.

However, it’s time to bring out the most covering coats or jackets because the breeze will cause the wind chill to be 7 degrees on Saturday morning in the Washington DC metropolitan area.
