Christmas under the clouds. The weather will often be overcast with a little rain or a downpour over the southern half of the country. On the north and west, it will be drier with some clearings, although the risk of precipitation will also increase there at the end of the day, according to the forecasts of the Royal Meteorological Institute (IRM) for this Saturday. The maximum will be between 7 or 8 degrees in the upper Ardennes and 11 degrees in the center of the country. The wind will blow moderately from the southwest.
Tonight and the following night, a few drops of rain will sprinkle the territory. In the Ardennes, visibility may once more be locally reduced by low clouds. The minima will vary between 6 and 9 degrees, under a generally moderate or even weak wind in the Ardennes. On Sunday, temperatures will be mild for the season, between 10 and 11 degrees. Some clearings will be possible in the morning but a zone of rain will quickly nibble all the regions.
The day of Christmas, some temporary sunny spells will be possible in the morning, especially in the northwest of the country. A new area of rain will rise fairly quickly from France with rains that will reach all regions in the followingnoon. These will be abundant in places. It will be mild with maximums of 7 degrees in the upper Ardennes and 10 or 11 degrees in the center. The wind will be light to generally moderate from the south, turning to the southwest in the followingnoon.
Monday, more unstable sea currents will invade our country. Cloudiness will be variable with showers. The clearings will widen from the coast during the followingnoon. The maxima will vary between 7 degrees in the upper Ardennes and 11 degrees in Flanders. The southwest wind will be moderate, along the coast quite strong. It will move west during the day.
Mardi, following a night when light frosts will return to upper Belgium and perhaps also to the center of the country, the weather will generally be dry with cloudy periods and sometimes wide clearings. It will be a little cooler with maximums of 2 degrees on the high plateaus of the Ardennes and 8 degrees by the sea. The wind will generally be moderate from south to south-west.
Wednesday, the weather will initially be generally dry, but already very cloudy. A zone of rain will approach the west during the followingnoon, then will cross our country towards the east the following night. The highs will vary between 4 and 9 degrees.
Thursday, the cloudiness will become variable with sunny spells and showers, driven by a fairly strong southwesterly wind. The highs will vary between 5 and 9 degrees.
Friday, following a temporary lull, a new area of rain, the timing of which remains to be determined, will invade our country from the coast. The maxima will vary between 6 and 10 degrees with a still well-supported southwesterly wind.
