Weather cocktail: more than 26,000 Hydro-Québec customers without electricity

Some 26,151 homes were still plunged into darkness overnight from Thursday to Friday, due to power outages on the Hydro-Quebec network caused by the weather cocktail of the day before.

The bulk of the outages was recorded in the Laurentians and in Lanaudière where 9,630 and 6,966 customers respectively were deprived of electricity, according to the latest report from Hydro-Quebec updated shortly Friday shortly following 4 a.m.

In Montérégie, 5,809 Hydro-Québec subscribers have still not been reconnected to the electrical network, while in Chaudière-Appalaches, 1,593 outages are waiting to be restored, according to the same report.

In Montreal, there are 300 families who were still left in the dark, due to outages that the state corporation has not yet been able to resolve, while in Mauricie, no less than 744 households are affected by the interruption of the Electric power.

In total, no less than 68 power outages have not yet been restored across most regions of the province, while Hydro-Québec agents are still at work on the ground.
