On the night of Wednesday, the salt spreaders had to go out on the roads in North Jutland, even though it is already April.
The people of North Jutland stood up to icy roads, if they weren’t exactly slick following the snow that hit parts of the country on Tuesday.
With that in mind, it’s great to hear what the Danish Meteorological Institute can say regarding the weather in the coming days. And especially the weekend.
First, we just have to have some very wet days.
– In the following days, one rainstorm following another is lined up and will typically pass Denmark from western directions, so there are plans for some wet and unsettled days. By Friday evening, a large part of the country will thus have received somewhere between 15 and 30 mm of rain on top of the good 20 to 40 mm of rain that fell during the wet Tuesday night, writes meteorologist Lars Henriksen on dmi.dk.
A summary of the expected rain amounts until Friday evening shows that especially Thy, Jammerbugt and the majority of Vendsyssel will receive plenty of precipitation. Between 24 and 48 mm. The rest of North Jutland should expect between 15 and 24 mm of rain.
So it’s nicer to look forward to the weekend. It seems to get really warm. On Saturday, the temperature can reach 18 degrees and actually close to 20 degrees in some places. The sun will peek out from time to time, and this also applies on Sunday, although the temperature here will drop a little once more.
It is Himmerland in particular that benefits from the high temperatures at the weekend. The further north you go, the colder it will be.
– April is a month when the weather can’t really decide. That’s how it’s always been, and the coming days are no exception, writes Lars Henriksen.
