Express bad weather will hit the country in the next few hours with the main characteristics being intense storms and the drop in temperature.
Meteorologist Christina Rigou analyzes on newsit.gr how the bad weather will move and in which areas the storms will hit.
As Christina Rigou emphasizes, the new bad weather in our country is ongoing, which has started since the afternoon hours of Monday (03/04/2024) with strong storms in the Ionian Islands. An organized rainfall system is moving further east passing over western Greece.
Strong storms will occur during the night in Epirus, western Sterea and western Peloponnese as well as the westernmost parts of Thessaly and central Macedonia (Pella, Imathia, Pieria)
The storms are spreading throughout Greece
In Attica, the phenomena in the morning hours will have stopped as the weather improves, while light rains will return in the afternoon hours. From the evening hours the weather will improve.

Severe weather throughout Tuesday
In the morning hours of Tuesday in Macedonia, Thrace and islands of the northern and eastern Aegean the phenomena will be strong with storms. Temporarily and in the Dodecanese we will see some storms occurring during the day, but from noon onwards the weather will improve.
Small drop in temperature
The temperature will not show any serious change. We will have a slight drop in temperature in the north to 14 degrees Celsius and 15 to 17 degrees in the rest of the continent, while in the southern Aegean the maximum temperature will reach 18 degrees Celsius. The winds will blow from the northwest with an intensity of 4 to 6 Beaufort.
