In Geneva, PRO BETON recently began equipping some of its field employees with connected vests from the Vaud start-up Wearin’, specializing in IoT.
“The reliability of the solution, in particular its advanced automatic fall detection system, makes the difference in securing isolated working time and meeting the comfort and safety needs of our employees. As they work alone in a noisy and risky environment, it is crucial for them to be able to count on cutting-edge technology which integrates all the necessary safety devices so that the security center can intervene on time and in an appropriate manner in the event of an emergency. “accident,” explains Éric Guillot, Director of the concrete producer at Bout du Lac, which makes these connected vests available to its machinist assistant and cleaning teams.
A spin-off of the Vaud company Fischer Connectors, the start-up Wearin’ notably supplies connected bulletproof vests to police officers, firefighters and rescue workers. But also to cash conveyors. This garment equipped with a Wearin’ Brain device houses an inertial fall detection sensor and can also be located by GPS. In the event of a fall, data and alerts are sent and collected via a cloud platform. “In the Brain’s case are integrated the SOS button, the fall detection sensor, the GPS system, a battery with a 10-hour autonomy which allows the Brain to operate throughout the shift of PRO BETON employees, as well as than the LTE module to send secure data to the alert center,” explains Alvaro Goncalves, Technical Director of Wearin’.
