“We witnessed an explosive noise with visible dust emanating from the windows.”

According to Het Laatste Nieuws, a recently renovated house on Kuringersteenweg in Hasselt collapsed in two parts on Thursday evening around 10 p.m. Residents reported hearing a loud noise and seeing dust coming out of the windows. They immediately contacted the police, who subsequently called the fire brigade. Although they initially went back to sleep, they were awakened at 5 a.m. by an even louder bang, finding that the building had fully collapsed. The street was closed off, and an investigation into the causes of the incident is underway.

The building had just been renovated, as Het Laatste Nieuws tells us. However, this Thursday evening at around 10 p.m., the house located on Kuringersteenweg in Hasselt collapsed. In two times.

“We heard a big bang and saw dust coming out of the windows. Then we immediately called the police and they called the fire brigade, ”explains residents to our colleagues. “We went back to sleep, but at 5 a.m. we were woken up by an even louder bang. The building has completely collapsed”

The street was closed and an intervention was initiated. The causes of the incident are not yet known.
