GBC News: – The Secretary-General of Hezbollah, Hassan Nasrallah, announced, on Saturday, that it will not allow the extraction of oil and gas from the disputed Karish field until Lebanon obtains its rightful demands.

Nasrallah said, in a speech today during the commemoration of the fortieth anniversary of Hussein in Baalbek, “We are facing a historic opportunity, and gas is our only chance to get out of the crisis. In this context, the Zionist officials said that the extraction will take place in September. Then they said that they postponed the issue, and what is important to us is that the extraction does not happen.” From the disputed Karish field before Lebanon takes its rights.”

He added: “Our eyes and our missiles are on Karish, and the Israelis have sufficient data on the seriousness of the resistance’s stance, and this is not a psychological war.”

Nasrallah said: “In the past two days, we have sent a very strong message far from the media to the Israeli enemy, and we have confirmed that if oil extraction occurs, the problem has occurred.”

He expressed his hope that the President of the Republic, Michel Aoun, and the head of the caretaker government, Najib Mikati, will be able to form a government, saying: “We have great hopes in this field and the responsibility requires everyone to compromise for the sake of the country,” declaring support for calls to agree on a single name on the issue of the presidency. Nasrallah revealed that a delegation from Lebanon would go to Iran within days to discuss the fuel file, noting that Tehran had shown from the beginning its willingness to provide aid and assistance to the Lebanese people.
