We will do whatever it takes to prevent Russia from winning 2024-03-02 00:18:07

“There is currently no consensus on officially sending (…) ground forces. But nothing should be ruled out. We will do everything necessary so that Russia cannot win this war,” Macron explained yesterday after the end of an international conference in support of Ukraine held in Paris.

On the sidelines of his visit to the Agricultural Exhibition in Paris, Atal recalled today that “two years ago” many countries “ruled out the possibility of sending weapons” to Ukraine.

“Today we are going to send long-range missiles to support the Ukrainians in the face of this aggression,” he added.

“So, what the president of the Republic reminded us is that we cannot rule out anything in a war which, once again, is raging in the heart of Europe and at the door of the EU”, concluded Atal, estimating that Macron “was clear on the matter”.

The French prime minister reiterated that Paris cannot think that “Russia might win this war”, that its president Vladimir Putin could “say that he took control of another free and democratic country by force”.

Recalling that Sweden and Finland, two historically neutral countries, decided to join NATO “because they see this threat coming,” Atal added: “I don’t want my generation and the generations to come to grow up in a world ( …) threats”.
