Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy inspects the supply and demand situation of hydrogen charging stations in the central region
Cooperation between industry, related organizations, and local governments… Efforts to stabilize supply and demand
[에너지신문] The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy has decided to closely cooperate with producers, suppliers, and charging station operators to ensure smooth operation and continuously monitor the supply and demand situation in relation to the recent disruption in supply and demand of hydrogen charging stations in the central region.
Recently, as the maintenance period for some facilities producing hydrogen in the Dangjin and Seosan regions was delayed from the original plan, supply and demand disruptions occurred at some hydrogen charging stations in the central region (metropolitan area, Chungcheong area, and Gangwon-do).

In relation to this, the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy held an inspection meeting on the supply and demand situation of hydrogen charging stations in the central region in Seoul on the 24th, chaired by Park Chan-ki, Director of Hydrogen Economy Policy.
This meeting examined the hydrogen supply and demand situation and sought response measures with hydrogen producers, suppliers, charging station operators, and local governments.
The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy has thoroughly inspected the operation status and supply status of hydrogen charging stations in the central region, while requesting cooperation from hydrogen suppliers so that surplus water from other hydrogen production facilities in normal operation can be supplied to charging stations where hydrogen supply and demand are unstable.
In addition, we plan to continuously monitor the supply and demand situation by establishing an emergency communication network between industries, related organizations, and local governments that attended today’s meeting until supply and demand are normalized.
Park Chan-gi, Director of Hydrogen Economy Policy, said, “For users of hydrogen vehicles, the most important thing is an environment where they can conveniently recharge hydrogen anytime, anywhere.” He added, “The government is working closely with related industries and related organizations to provide hydrogen at hydrogen charging stations.” “We will do our best to ensure supply and demand,” he emphasized.
