“We want to see Russia and Iran on our side in our fight once morest terrorist groups in Syria,” said Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

The Turkish Head of State spoke to journalists at the end of his visit to Iran.

He commented on the tripartite meeting organized with his Russian, Vladimir Putin, and Iranian, Ebrahim Raïsi counterparts.

President Erdogan stressed that “a possible operation [dans le nord de la Syrie] will always be on the Türkiye’s agenda until its national security concerns are eliminated.”

In this context, he criticized the position taken by the United States.

“The United States must leave east of the Euphrates. This is what emerges from the Astana process, because this country feeds terrorist groups in this area, he insisted. We want to see Russia and Iran on our side in our fight once morest terrorist groups in Syria. They must provide us with the necessary support.”

President Erdogan also commented on the development of the war in Ukraine launched by Russia and the efforts made by Ankara to end the war.

“Putin appreciates our efforts, he said. They offered some interesting things. We continue our solidarity regarding the gas and the nuclear power plant in Akkuyu.”

As for the planned cereal corridor, Erdogan said he hoped “a written agreement on the corridor this week and then the implementation of the plan in question, in the coming days”.
