James Story, United States ambassador to Venezuela, reported that he is working together with the opposition Juan Guaidó in order to achieve free elections in the country. The information was shared by the diplomat on his Twitter program Hello Ambassador. He also assured that he wants to see that the right to vote is respected.

“We want to see free and fair elections in Venezuela, as the letter says. The Charter of the Americas says that everyone should have their rights, we want to see that their government is for everyone and that Venezuelans have the opportunity to express themselves politically, economically, socially, without the risk of being imprisoned,” Story said on the social network.

Story wants to resume negotiations

During the broadcast, he explained that he is working to resume talks with the Maduro government hand in hand with the Unitarian Platform. Similarly, he expressed disagreement and condemned Nicolás Maduro’s accusations regarding the sanctions imposed on the country.

“The United States is the main exporter of food to Venezuela. What lock? It doesn’t exist », he declared.
