We tested for you – Realme GT 2 Pro: Realme’s technology showcase

The young Chinese brand Realme is betting on performance by offering high-end smartphones equipped with the best processors of the moment. This is the case of the new Realme GT 2 Pro.

Dimensions

The Realme GT 2 Pro measures 163 millimeters high, 74.7 millimeters wide and 8.18 millimeters thick. The smartphone weighs 189 grams. It is easy to handle except for people with small hands.

5G

The smartphone is compatible with the 5G network.

Screen

The Realme GT 2 Pro’s screen measures 6.67 inches. It is OLED type and its maximum refresh rate is 120 hertz. The screen has a resolution of 3216 x 1440 pixels. The display is good. Colors and details are faithfully reproduced.

Audio

The two speakers of the Realme GT 2 Pro are effective, especially for watching movies. They lack bass when listening to music, but that’s a common phenomenon with smartphones. The device does not have a jack port, so earphones and headphones can be connected wirelessly or through the USB port.

Performance and software

Performance is assured by a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 octa-core processor and an Adreno 730 graphics card. The Realme GT 2 Pro has a RAM of 12 gigabytes (GB) expandable up to 19 GB and a storage memory of 256 GB. The smartphone runs on the Android 12 operating system dressed in the Realme UI 3.0 overlay. Performance is good, especially in multi-tasking. The phone does not falter even with many applications open or while playing resource-intensive video games.

Photography

The main camera on the back of the smartphone has three lenses: the main one is a 50-megapixel wide-angle paired with a 50-megapixel fisheye and a 3-megapixel microscopic lens. The main camera can shoot in 8K. The front camera for selfies and video calls has a resolution of 32 megapixels. Camera performance is decent, but nothing more.

Other equipment

The Realme GT 2 Pro has, among other things, an NFC chip for wireless connections, Wi-Fi 6 and a fingerprint reader placed under the screen.

Battery

The Realme GT 2 Pro has a 5,000 milliamp-hour (mAh) battery and 65-watt recharge. It is not compatible with wireless charging, which is a shame. The autonomy is good with a duration of one day in normal use and up to two days in light use.
