Raja Allah Al-Sulami, Assistant Minister of Sports for Media and Communication Affairs, revealed that the general assembly of Al-Ahly Jeddah Club will be held in attendance for the members of the board of directors and the golden members, adding that the ministry received a recent request to dissolve the club’s board of directors.
In a meeting in the Sports Bulletin on Al-Arabiya, the Assistant Minister of Sports explained: Al-Ahly’s general assembly will be held in attendance for the board of directors and the golden members, while it will be remotely for the rest of the members. We received a request last April to hold an extraordinary general assembly, but because it was not complete, the ministry did not approve.
He added regarding the receipt of a request to dissolve Al-Ahly’s board of directors: On July 11, a request was received to dissolve Al-Ahly’s board of directors by one of the members of the general assembly, and it will be dealt with according to what is required by the basic regulations of the clubs.
Al-Salami clarified regarding the powers of the Ministry of Sports, saying: The Ministry of Sports does not have the right to dissolve clubs’ boards of directors unless it is proven that financial or administrative corruption, serious violations, the resignation of the president, or the number of members of the board of directors being less than its legal quorum.
