Gabby Williams: “I’m super happy and proud of what we did during this competition. I think we shouldn’t lower our heads at all because what we did was huge. It’s a match that everyone will talk about for years to come. Of course, there’s disappointment, but I think that in a few hours, we’ll celebrate this medal because what we did is really incredible.
I really wanted to change the culture in France, that we don’t accept defeat. But for me, it was step by step, I wanted to win every game, every training session, every day. And that’s how we got to where we got to. During the game, I didn’t see any doubt in our heads. I felt that we were there to get the gold medal and that’s why we played the game we did this (Sunday) night.”
