How do you feel following this victory?
Count Enoko: We are very, very happy. It’s a dream for us to win in Monte-Carlo which is a special place.
Lukas Sergnese: This is my fourth time here and we get better each time. It’s really not easy so we’re really proud.
What is your assessment of this edition?
C. E.: It’s a long rally and we had varied results in the stages. We had bad weather in one stage but we had the opportunity to recover that. We continued to fight and Lukas did a very good job. We gave everything!
L. S.: We had some problems the first day on the first kilometers but we found the solution and we had to do it quickly. We spent two days in the lead and on Saturday morning we lost the advantage following a complicated morning but we made up for it on the night of Turini. It was very tight (laughs).
What do you think made the difference? It comes down to details…
L. S.: There are many things. The driver must be on the line and not lose meters. He must be on time too… He must take the turns correctly so as not to lose time.
How did you adapt to the secret route?
C. E.: For us it’s a good decision. It’s very expensive to come here a few days before the race to do reconnaissance. In these conditions, everyone knows nothing and I hope that it will continue like this.
L.S.: We all leave from the same point an hour before departure. We can’t do the work before then. It’s difficult for us but it’s difficult for others too.
There was also this new rule of electronic devices being prohibited on board, how did you experience it?
L. S.: For us this is not a problem because we never use the automatic system. The best teams automatically calibrate the GPS but it’s like driving without a co-pilot. This year the work is split 50/50 between driver and co-driver. We had to work as a team.
As foreigners, what do you think of Monaco and its hinterland roads?
C. E.: They are very difficult. These are legendary roads like the Bollène-Vésubie, the Turini. It’s a bit similar to northern Spain.
L. S.: Yes we have a lot of mountains in the north of Spain and we have a lot of relief here within a radius of 50 kilometers. We were also in Italy on Saturday and it was very beautiful.
With your victory, you are second in the FIA ecoRally Cup standings, the championship which takes place all year round. There is only one stage left from November 9 to 11 in Italy. It’s going to be very tight…
C. E.: Yes we are two points ahead of the third places and two points behind the leaders. We will go to Italy to win this title (laughs). That’s our goal, we want to win!

Karel and Nathalie, winning duo
Their smile says more than a long speech. For their third participation in the E-Rally under the colors of the Daghe Munegu team, Karel Colibert and Nathalie Zbinden (Lexus RZ) climbed to the top of the women’s ranking and took a nice 21st place overall.
“A great, very exciting adventure and an exceptional team in which everyone gets along well”sum up the competitors from the Monaco Urban Planning Department who, once once more, had a lot of fun on the roads of the E-Rally.
They who barely knew each other before being selected to participate in the event in 2021 now form a seasoned team who adapted in no time to the new rules of the rally.
