«We live a festival of letters»

This Sunday the 2023 Book Fair in Cipolletti ended and the authorities highlighted the massive attendance that was recorded during the ten days of the event. The fair started on Friday, September 29 and extended until Sunday, October 8 at the facilities of the Cipolletti Cultural Complex.

Present at the fair were publishers from different parts of the country. There were also a wide variety of talks and book presentations, with local writers. The 18th edition of the event featured an artistic show at the close of each day.

The Secretary of Culture, Silvia Seisdedos, highlighted that “the balance has been extremely positive«. And she remarked: “We have had ten days of Book Fair with the visit of 4 women writers from Buenos Aires and Mar del Plata.”

Furthermore, as of this edition, The “Itinerant Book Fair” was implemented, a new project that proposed moving activities and protagonists to public spaces. In this edition, Rural School No. 50 received the illustrator and graphic designer, Juan Chavettawho presented his book “Puro Pelo” and shared a Drawing Workshop with students and teachers.

Seisdedos assured that this edition had thousands of people from different locations. “We estimate an attendance of around 20,000 people who visited uscoming from Cipolletti and neighboring towns, Neuquén, General Roca, Fernández Oro, among others,” he described.

He further stated that “we really live a festival of letters”. During his speech, he thanked his entire team, the different areas of the Cipolletti Government and especially the Mayor Claudio Di Tella.

At the closing there were activities in the CCC Park, with neighborhood workshops, breakdancing and the presentation of the band La Colombia. Recreational activities were also carried out with the Secretariat of Physical Activity and Sports, and different proposals through the Secretariat of Human Development and Community Promotion.
