It’s more official than ever, “Secret Story” is indeed returning to our small screens. And it’s coming very soon, since TF1 has just announced the broadcast date of the first bonus during which we will discover the new candidates.
After seven years of absence from the air, “Secret Story” is back. Last October, TF1 announced the opening of casting, and several months later, things came to fruition. The cult reality TV show will return to television on Tuesday April 23. It will be broadcast at 11:30 p.m., in the second part of the evening, following “Koh Lanta: The Immunity Hunters”. The daily is scheduled from Wednesday April 24, at 5:30 p.m. on the main channel and at 7:05 p.m. on TFX.

Some hoped to see him once more, but for this twelfth season, Benjamin Castaldi will not return to service. As since the ninth season, control of the animation will be entrusted to Christophe Beaugrand. Last January, the host was delighted with this news on Instagram: “If you only knew how happy I am to be back at the helm of ‘Secret Story’! The big return of the cult show (and the Voice) is very soon and you are not ready.”
A more “family” show, with “normal” people
According to The Parisian, you should expect some changes compared to the last editions of the show. Indeed, TF1 would have imposed its conditions on the production company Endemol, stipulating that it wanted the program to be more “family friendly”. No more cliché characters from reality TV, viewers would now like to see “normal” candidates. “Secret Story” should be more focused on the game than on the little love stories and disagreements of the participants. Will TF1 and Endemol keep their commitments, while boosting their ratings? We will discover it from April 23.
