This Wednesday in the Meeting with Julio Villagrán program, the general secretary of SITRASALUD FOSALUD, Alberto Monge, mentioned that the FOSALUD mobile units in both the previous and current governments have used them by taking them to the communities with political intentions, and due to Because of this, many workers and union leaders have been fired for making public complaints; for these reasons, many unions have been co-opted by the government.

“What is not worth it is putting institutions and unions at the service of a party or a government, we must not be enemies of the government but enemies of those who attack the rights of workers,” Monge highlights.

FOSALUD has been laying off pregnant women since last year, which is a disastrous practice for workers, in addition to having staff performing permanent tasks under conditions of interim contracts.

“The director of FOSALUD gave statements on the radio saying that there were only 2 pregnant women who had finished their contract but who had already been reinstated and that is not true… Next week we are going to present the dismissed colleagues and they are going to declare that “There are not only 2 fired but 6 and they have not been reinstated, what the director says is a lie,” assured Alberto Monge.

Finally, Monge highlighted that they have requested meetings with the director of FOSALUD since May of last year, but have not received a response.
“The director of FOSALUD says that I have not worked for 3 years, why have I waited all this time to sanction me, and until today when he reported the issue of pregnant colleagues, he wants to sanction me”highlighted the Secretary General of SITRASALUD FOSALUD
